February TBR (With Some New Books Buys)

February has arrived and it took me forever to decide what books I wanted to try and read. Even while I am writing this I have to keep telling myself that I need to be more realistic in my reading habits but honestly I have been on such a reading tip that I may actually end up reading more. The mix of audiobook and actual book has actually increased the amount of books I have been reading anyway so I figured I would make a combination list. Of course as always I do not always know what each of these books are about but if  I know anything I will try to give a brief overview:

Books on my February TBR:

Island Beneath the Sea (Audiobook) by Isabel Allende

Binti by Nnedi Okorafor

Binti: Home by Nnedi Okorafor

Binti: The Night Masquerade by Nnedi Okorafor

*The entire BINTI series is considered to be African Sci-Fi…Cool right?*

On Beauty by Zadie Smith

A Distant Heart by Sonali Dev

A story about a young indian girl who is extremely sheltered because her parents consider her the miracle after so many miscarriages. She ends up befriending a boy who was actually hired to wash her windows and their stories become intertwined from there.

Victoria by Daisy Goodwin

The book that the entire PBS Masterpiece series VICTORIA is based on. That is enough to make me want to read it anyday.

Glass Sword (Audiobook) by Victoria Aveyard

Part 2 of the Red Queen series. I really have a like/hate relationship with the first book so I am just trying to give the book a chance. Essentially it starts off right at the end of Red Queen while now they are trying to save new bloods while trying to avoid being captured by Maven.

American Marriage by Tayari Jones

This is a February 2018 release and it is about a couple who are happily married and established in their careers when their lives take a turn for the worst. The husband is put in jail for a crime he did not commit and this really puts a strain on their relationship. The wife, dutifully tries to keep their marriage alive but begins to rely heavily on her husband’s best friend which (obviously) turns into a little something more than friendship. To everyone’s surprise the husband actually gets released from jail and thus the story of how they are coming back together begins. I am intrigued.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
